Do you remember where you were on 9/11? It's been 12 years and it's a moment in time that we can't forget. We had moved to Manhattan 3 days before 9/11 and were in a temporary apt on 57th and broadway, waiting for our condo to close. I turned on the radio that morning and heard that a plane had hit a World Trade Tower - where is the punchline - it never came. That day..... the sirens, the helicopters, the military planes, white billowy smoke that looked as if it were a few feet away, total chaos. During the next few months..... the city of silence, the candlelight vigils in all the neighborhoods, photos everywhere on the street of family members and friends that were missing, kind looks from strangers, flowers-paintings-sculptures-photos at every police and fire station in honor of these heroes, the knot in your throat, the smell of smoke. During the next few years.... a jolt every time you heard a siren, the still disbelief, acceptance.
We remember those that passed, their family members and friends, the heroes (including pup heroes). Today and every day, we pray for peace and love.
